William Idoniboye is a Nigerian born computer systems engineer from Rivers State who was appointed as Senior Special Assistant on Information and Communications Technology to Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike on November 9, 2015.

Early life and education
He was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria in September 1970 to Chief (Dr.) Birinengi Idoniboye-Obu and Mrs. Dubravka Idoniboye-Obu (née Ferega); both of whom were lecturers in the Nigerian educational system. He attended Port Harcourt Primary School, Government Comprehensive Secondary School and the University of Port Harcourt before moving to the United States where he obtained the CompTIA Security+, Microsoft MCP, MCSA & MCSE, Cisco CCNA as well as VMware Certification.
Career
Idoniboye lived in Washington, DC where he established a career as an IT services professional in the private industry as well as local and federal government. He has worked extensively on building ICT capacity in development projects across the globe.
Idoniboye’s career in the computer technology field spans a timeline of just over 16 years, most recently with Dell Federal Services USA as a Federal Contractor leading the US Government’s Federal Archives Virtualization Initiative in College Park, Maryland. He has garnered extensive experience in the Information Technology field and has previously worked at the United States Department of Agriculture, WellPoint/BCBS, MainOne Cable (Nigeria), USGBC, Creative Associates International as well as for the Government of the District of Columbia.
In his current position, he manages the overall ICT infrastructure and services for the Government of Rivers State, including staff, citizen and intern training programs, enterprise internet access, e-mail services, and the State's biometric staff database exercise.
