Whats in a Name? (original title: Le Prenom, literally "The Given Name") is a French-Belgian comedy film, written and directed by Alexandre de La Patelliere and Matthieu Delaporte and released in 2012. It is adapted from the play Le Prenom by the same authors. The film was a box office success in France, selling 3,340,231 tickets.

Vincent, a wealthy real estate agent, is invited to dinner by his sister Elizabeth and her husband Peter, both professors in Paris. Claude, a childhood friend and trombonist in a symphony orchestra, is also present. Vincent brings news from the prenatal examination of his and his wife Anna's unborn son. The name chosen by the soon-to-be parents strongly offends the others for many reasons. The dispute between the guests quickly escalates and before long the resurgence of old grudges and hidden secrets is unavoidable ...
Plot

Vincent, a real estate agent and father-to-be is invited for dinner by his sister Elisabeth and his brother-in-law Pierre. When Vincent reveals he intends to have his son being baptised as "Adolphe" his hosts object to that. The situation eventually gets out of hand.
Awards

The film had five nominations at the 38th Cesar Awards, winning in the categories Best Supporting Actress (Valerie Benguigui) and Best Supporting Actor (Guillaume de Tonquedec).

The movie has won two awards at film festivals in Canada: the Grand Prix Hydro-Quebec at the Festival du cinema international en Abitibi-Temiscamingue, and the Radio Canada Audience Award at the Cinefranco International Francophone Film Festival in Toronto.
