Allusions and samples

  • "Five AM Afterparty" is an irate telephone voice message from KMFDM's Lucia Cifarelli in response to her receiving numerous anonymous prank calls.
  • "Are You Connected" contains samples from the film Suicide Circle.
  • The album version of "Get Your Body Beat" is different from the single version; although the single version is marked as "album version" on the single, it is not.
  • "All Your Bass Belongs to Us" is a play on the famous phrase "All your base are belong to us".
  • Both "HAL 9000" and "Brain Bypass" use the computer speech from Stanley Kubrick's 1968 film 2001: A Space Odyssey.
  • The audio excerpt of the cheerleader-like chant in "Give Head if You Got It" is taken from the film The Hot Chick.
  • Jack Torrance is a reference to the main character of Stephen King's The Shining.
  • The audio excerpt in "God Warrior" is taken from an episode of reality show Trading Spouses.
  • The repeating hook of "Fuck That Shit" in the song of the same name is spoken by Dennis Hopper in a clip from Blue Velvet.
  • The audio excerpt in "Shut Up and Swallow" is from the film The Thirteenth Floor (1999).
  • Music videos

Four music videos were made to promote the album:

  • "Get Your Body Beat" was directed by Agata Alexander and uses scenes from the biopunk film The Gene Generation by the director Pearry Reginald Teo.
  • "Electrohead": The band posted a bulletin on their website and Myspace, "We will be shooting a video for "Electrohead" on Friday February 2, in Los Angeles, at Das Bunker. If you want to be a part of the video, dress hot or "crazy", and show up early. We expect to see all of the So Cal CC Army out for this. Doors open at 10pm." However, after reviewing the material shot during the performance, the footage was too dark to use because of the venue's poor lighting. The band then opted to re-shoot the live video portion in North Carolina. "Electrohead" was officially released on June 10, 2007, via MySpace video.
  • "Deathbed" was released on May 7, 2007. LaPlegua posted the band's new video on his livejournal and on YouTube. This time the video was filmed and directed by LaPlegua with help from Agata Alexander who also directed the "Get Your Body Beat" video.
  • "Fuck That Shit": The video was animated and directed entirely by Brandon Duncan of corporatedemon.com. After viewing Duncan's online portfolio, LaPlegua quickly asked Duncan to animate the video. The video was initially posted through Video on YouTube on the Combichrist MySpace page, but a higher quality version has since been posted.
