The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa, formerly the Westin Casuarina, is a resort hotel on Seven Mile Beach on the island of Grand Cayman.

History

Construction of the $50-million Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort was announced by Kentucky-based hotelier Columbia Sussex in November 1994. Before opening, the property's Marriott affiliation was replaced with Westin Hotels. The resort opened in December 1995.

In 2010, the resort was reported to be facing foreclosure as demand was in a slump and Columbia Sussex struggled under $2.4 billion of debt. By February 2011, local company WMC and American hotel operator Pyramid Hotel Group had been appointed receivers of the property, and Columbia Sussex was no longer involved.

In 2016, The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa began work on it's 2-phased, $50 Million renovation. Phase one took place over the summer of 2016 and included a completely brand new lobby, retail gallery and pool deck, "enhanced with modern design married with Caribbean flair". Phase 2 is presently scheduled for the summer of 2017 and will include all of the resorts 343 guest rooms.
