The West Virginia Division of Juvenile Services (WVDJS) is a state agency of West Virginia, headquartered on the second floor of the Brooks Medical Building in Charleston. The agency operates juvenile correctional facilities.

  • Youth diagnostic centers:

  • Donald R. Kuhn Juvenile Diagnostic and Detention Center (Unincorporated Boone County)
  • Northern West Virginia Youth Diagnostic Center (on the grounds of the West Virginia Industrial Home for Youth)
  • The young diagnostic centers are designated to hold youth for 60 days. WVDJS operated two diagnostic centers until January 2006, when Kuhn took all diagnostic functions and Northern West Virginia was reclassified. In February 2008 Northern West Virginia was re-opened as a classification center, increasing classification bed space from 38 to 53.
