Facilities
WLFS has 105,000 square feet of studio-space, including six stages and office-space. The U.K. has become a direct location-filming competitor to California, whose own production tax credit programme does not support big-budget features or TV-drama series.
WLFS offers The Hospital Location - the only medical film studios located in the United Kingdom dedicated to providing sets for all things related to medicine.
Opening
Actor Aaron Paul, who played Jesse Pinkman in U.S. TV-drama Breaking Bad, joined studio-owner Frank Khalid to cut the ribbon at the official opening of WLFS in May 2014.
Productions
Examples of productions filmed at WLFS include: The Imitation Game (2014) starring Keira Knightley and Benedict Cumberbatch, the hit BBC series New Tricks, and Channel 4's youth sci-fi series Misfits. It was reported in October 2014 that AMC's TV-drama Knifeman - starring Tom Hollander and Daniel Mays - was to be filmed at WLFS.
