Wedi ireng beach banyuwangi
Wedi Ireng beach is one of the hidden paradises in Banyuwangi. It is located in Pancer, Pesanggran, Banyuwangi, East Java. It is nearly about 3 km from Red Island (Pulau Merah) or about 65 km to the south of Banyuwangi city. It is typical of virgin beach because there are not many visitors visited it. It is still genuine and pure. It is called “Wedi Ireng” because of the color of sand. In Javanese, wedi means sand and ireng means black. The sand color of the beach is actually white, but when you dredge the sand, the black sand will appear.

The View of Wedi Ireng Beach
The clean blue water that the beach has can make you feel satisfied and do not care how much sweat you had. The sand is quite smooth. The landscape is so gorgeous. The wave usually is getting higher but it’s not same with the wave in Red Island. You can enjoy without any bother from someone else because it is not crowded. You can also get sun bathing, play the water with your friends, or just take photos the view. Besides that, Wedi Ireng beach also has the best spot to enjoy sunrise and sunset. As far as we can see, there is an amazing Bedil Island. This Island can be seen clearly from Wedi Ireng beach. If you want to go there, you will get memorable experience and can show to the world that Indonesia is so wonderful.
Route
If you want to go to Wedi Ireng, you can start from the center of Banyuwangi, go to Jajag and then follow the way to Red Island. Before Red Island, there is the way to Pancer beach, so you can follow it. There are two ways from Pancer to go to WediIreng for about 2 km in the west. The first way, you can start from the parking area of fish market. For the car, you must cost 10 K and for motorcycle you must cost 5 k. After that, you can go on foot, cross the sea when it is going out. And then you can climb the hill which is not too high. If you choose this way, you will get tired because the way isn’t good enough. There are many small stone and no safety, so you have to be careful. The second way, you can park your vehicle and go to the place by boat. You are able to rent it to a fisherman. The rent cost is about 25K up to 30K.
Facilities
The minim facilities exactly make the people scared. When you on the hill, there is no direction, so you have to follow the way that people has cleaned. If you feel thirsty or hungry, you can buy some beverages or foods like instant noodle around the beach because there are some people who sell it to decrease your tired. You can enjoy your food and the scenery in the hut that is made from bamboo. After that you must throw the package into the bins that are provided in every corner. By doing it, we have kept the environment around the beach. Unfortunately, if you want to enjoy the sunset, you will not get good facilities. You can camp only because there is no hotel around the beach.
