We Are Not Numbers is a team operates under the umbrella of the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, an independent, international nonprofit. It mainly focuses on the Middle East-North Africa region. Euro-Med investigates and exposes human rights violations, suggests solutions. It has a storytelling project launched in February 2015 by the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor. The project brings promising young writers from Gaza, who write in English, and provides them with workshops on writing stories and articles, social media, and how to approach a western audience. Each one of the writers is assigned an international mentor, who is an established and published writer (journalist, author, etc.). Mentors help writers with brainstorming and editing and while bringing an international perspective to the table.
