According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 36.8 square miles (95.2 km²), of which, 36.7 square miles (95.1 km²) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (0.11%) is water.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there were 496 people, 176 households, and 139 families residing in the town. The population density was 13.5 people per square mile (5.2/km²). There were 178 housing units at an average density of 4.8 per square mile (1.9/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 100.00% White. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.41% of the population.
There were 176 households out of which 38.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.6% were married couples living together, 6.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 21.0% were non-families. 17.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.82 and the average family size was 3.17.
