Wankaner reflects the hospitality and grandeur of old Kathiawar.

  • Ranjit Vilas Palace or simply, the Wankaner Palace is one of the most beautiful royal palaces in India. It was built up by Maharaja of Wankaner H.H. Amarsinhji in the 20th century. The palace complex is spread over 225 acres of land. The palace is built in Indo-sarsenic or Indo-Gothic style of architecture. Originally, it was a holiday palace of the Maharaja of Wankaner during his rule in the state. It has now been converted into a hotel. The palace is perched atop the Gadhio hills, offering a splendid view of the land below and far around. The palace, suffered significant damage in the 2001 earthquake, but has been restored since then.

The Royal Oasis is situated on the banks of the Machchhu Lake amidst a serene orchard of green trees, the warbling of birds and an atmosphere of cool, meditative calm. It also houses a grand indoor pool in the Art Deco style with an early twentieth century step-well located near the palace grounds.
