W&W is a Dutch electronic music duo from Breda, North Brabant, consisting of Willem van Hanegem ( [ˈʋɪ.ləm vɑn ˈɦaː.nə.ˌɣɛm]) and Ward van der Harst [ˈʋɑrt fɑn dɛr ˈɦɑrst]. W&W combine the upbeat melodic elements of trance with the intensity of electro and progressiveness of house.

History

In 2007, Van Hanegem (born 25 June 1987 son of the Dutch football player Willem van Hanegem, Sr) and Van der Harst (born 26 December 1988) met and began working together, fusing styles and mixing influences to create their own style of music. Before long they formed W&W.

2014

W&W WW

Their single "Bigfoot" was released in February 2014. It topped the chart at Beatport, gained plays at international radio stations and festivals. In October 2014, W&W began hosting their own radio show on SLAM!

2015

W&W WW

In 2015, W&W released several tracks, including "Rave After Rave" and "The One", a tribute to Whitney Houston, which uses the vocal samples of Houston’s major hit "How Will I Know".

They were ranked at 14th in the 2015 annual DJ Mag Top 100 DJs list, they were also performing at festivals around the world, including Miami Music Week, Winter Music Conference and Ultra Music Festival.

W&W became the first dance music act to perform at a Major League Baseball stadium when they took over Philadelphia Phillies Citizen's Bank Ball Park for a two-hour set.

2016

In 2016, they released "Arcade", a new collaboration with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, and a vocal solo single "How Many".

2017

They started a new trance duo called NWYR. They will continue their both project W&W and NWYR in the future.
