Biography and work
The native of Tulsa began playing piano in his mid-teens. Richmond has recorded with artists like Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, JJ Cale, Rockin' Jimmy Byfield and the Brothers of the Night and Rick Danko. Richmond was a founding member of the country-rock band, The Tractors. With the band, he released their self-titled debut album in 1994. Richmond left the band in 1998, along most of the original members. He was introduced to Eric Clapton by JJ Cale and appears on their collaborative album, The Road to Escondido, released in 2006. Since then, Richmond worked frequently with Clapton on global hit-albums like Clapton, Old Sock, the 2013 Crossroads Guitar Festival, The Breeze: An Appreciation of JJ Cale and I Still Do.
