Background

WalkMe works by overlaying information in "tip-balloons" in the browser window. These balloons break down online processes into step-by-step instructions. These balloons help users complete online tasks without leaving the screen to watch video tutorials or read manuals or FAQ pages. WalkMe algorithm delivers contextual guidance. This allows users automatically get the specific guidance according to their preference and language.

History

WalkMe Inc. was founded in 2011 by Dan Adika Raphael Sweary and Eyal Cohen, and in April 2012 launched the product WalkMe. Their headquarters are at 22 4th Street, in San Francisco, California, and the company is backed by Mangrove Capital Partners, Giza Venture Capital, Gemini Funds, ScaleVP, Greenspring Associates and Insight Venture Partners.

In June 2015, WalkMe announced it had raised $25 million in Series D funding, bringing total investment to $42.5 million. In June 2016 it TechCrunch reported that "WalkMe raised $50M led by Insight, now valued around $400M https://techcrunch.com/2016/06/02/on-screen-guidance-startup-walkme-raised-50m-led-by-insight-now-valued-around-400m/". In September 2016 WalkMe was included in Forbes Cloud 100 List Of The Best Private Cloud Companies In The World.In August 2016 Business Insider published a survey conducted by Glassdoor that lists "The 18 best cloud computing startups to work for, according to employees." WalkMe was ranked 3rd on the list.In October 2016 WalkMe ranked 13th overall and 6th in the Software industry in Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 ranking of the fastest growing technology companies in North America.[1]

In January 2017, WalkMe acquired Abbi, a startup which specializes in mobile A/B testing and app engagement. WalkMe will be retiring the Abbi brand and integrating its services into WalkMe’s platform. In the process, it will also be migrating Abbi’s existing customers.

In October 2014, WalkMe Won Customer Magazine’s 2014 “Contact Center Technology” Award.

In October 2014, leading training influencer Craig Weiss recognized WalkMe as the best product at the 2014 DevLearn Conference.

In June 2014, WalkMe Won Customer Magazine’s 2014 “Communications Solution Product of the Year” Award.

In May 2013, leading analyst firm Gartner recognized WalkMe as a “Cool Vendor in the CRM Customer Service and Social”.
