WTGZ (93.9 FM, "The Tiger") is a commercial radio station in Union Springs, Alabama, broadcasting to the Auburn, Alabama, area. Until 2007 the station also broadcast to the Montgomery, Alabama, area on 104.9 FM. The Tiger is the area's only modern rock station and is popular with Auburn University students.

Programming

WTGZ airs an alternative rock music format branded as "The Tiger". The station currently has four DJ's. Weekdays from 6 AM - 10 AM feature "The Morning Tiger" with veteran radio personality Steve Ocean hosting. Weekdays from 10 AM - 2 PM are hosted by Chris Rock; the 12pm hour features "The Flashback Lunch", "the very best new wave, retro, grunge, modern rock, and one-hit-wonders from the 70s, 80s, and 90s". "The Afternoon Drive" is aired weekdays from 2 PM - 4 PM with host Will. Rounding out the day from 4-6pm is critically acclaimed sports news and talk program "SportsCall" (see below).

Specialty shows include national programs like Out of Order with Jed the Fish (Saturdays 10PM to midnight, Sundays noon to 2 PM), Hard Drive with Lou Brutus (Sundays from 7 PM to 9 PM), and Loveline with Dr. Drew (Sunday through Thursday 10 PM to midnight).

Notable former on-air personalities include Marti Jackson, Ripper Price, Matt Stone, Sharpie, Johnny Wilkes, and Bill Bailey.

Alternative rock from the 1990s and the 2000s is the dominant style of music on the Tiger. Alternative rock from the late 1970s and 1980s is prominent weekdays from noon to 1 PM during "The Flashback Lunch" with Ant. Hard Drive airs active rock and heavy metal. These genres of music compose a small portion of the station's regular playlist as well.

WTGZ simulcasts Auburn High School Tigers football games on FM along with WAUD (AM).
