History

The station signed on for the first time in 1944 as WGAL-FM, sister station to WGAL. The stations were owned by Steinman Stations.

In March 1976, Steinman Stations sold WGAL-FM (along with WGAL (AM) and WGAL-TV) to Hall Communications for $850,000.

In April 1977, the call sign was changed to WNCE, and the branding to "Nice 101". The station's beautiful music format was not changed.

In 1992, the station changed call signs from WNCE to WROZ and its format from beautiful music to adult contemporary, rebranding as "The Rose".

On Thursday, May 14, 2015 the station switched branding from "The Rose" to "Fun 101.3".

Christmas Music

WROZ changes format to Christmas music each November and December and re-brands as "The Christmas Station".
