History

WOLT was originally known as WGEE-FM, airing a country format, then top-40 before becoming WXTZ-FM, broadcasting a beautiful music format. In the late 1980s, the station flipped to an adult contemporary format, "Magic 103.3" and was identified by the call letters WMJC-FM. Just prior to a purchase by Broadcast Alchemy, a company that formed part of what is now Clear Channel, the station became WFXF-FM "The Fox", playing classic rock to compete with WFBQ, which became its sister station following the sale.

The station began broadcasting as WRZX "Solid Rock X-103" on August 21, 1992.[1] Later on around 1994 it became "X-103 Indy's New Rock Alternative." On June 12, 2014, 103.3 rebranded as "Alt 103.3." On June 20, the call letters changed to WOLT. The WRZX call letters are now on the station 106.5 in Greenville, Ohio. This station was formerly WDSJ and plays oldies.
