Power increase

VARTV.com reports that WNRS-FM has requested the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) allow it to become a "Class B" station, move to 89.5 on the FM dial, and increase its power to 20,000 watts. "The new request for the antenna location would be 25 miles to the east of Lynchburg. Currently, it is 12 miles north of the city."

According to the Commission, WNRS-FM has received a construction permit to 89.5 as a class B station with antenna located near Appomattox. No word on when the station will make the move, although the new signal will put a city-grade signal from Forest to Farmville and cover much of Southside Virginia.
