Programming format and history

The station is the only sports channel that exclusively cablecasts local sports involving local high school sport teams in the lower Jackson Purchase region of far Western Kentucky. High school athletic programs showcased on the station include those of Calloway County, Murray, Graves County, Mayfield, and Carlisle County high schools. The station often broadcasts replays of most football and basketball games. Some select KHSAA district basketball tournament games may also be run on the station. WK&T Sports also runs Murray State University Racers football and basketball, except for those that are run by the American Sports Network as part of their Ohio Valley Conference men's basketball package, which would be carried by over-the-air MyNetworkTV affiliates WDKA in Paducah, WUXP in Nashville, and Jackson, Tennessee's NBC outlet WNBJ-LD.

In 2014, WK&T Sports added high school baseball and softball games involving Graves County and Mayfield High Schools.

Syndicated programming on WK&T Sports include Tennessee's Wild Side, produced by WNPT-TV in Nashville, and KET's Kentucky Afield.Raceline, the only syndicated program devoted to NASCAR racing, is also offered on the channel.

Other sports programming includes coverage of auto racing at the Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway.

Coverage area

All cable television customers of Murray Electric System and WK&T Telecommunications have access to the WK&T Sports Channel. This includes the western Kentucky counties of Carlisle, Graves, Marshall, and Calloway, along with the northwest Tennessee counties of Dyer, Gibson, Henry, Obion, and Weakley. WK&T Telecommunications distributes this and all of their offered channels on devices manufactured under the Flite label.
