W26CE is a low power television station license in New York. It is operating on analog channel 26 airing Color bars.

History

Originally on channel 19 in 1987 it was owned by WFUV as the first audio to be broadcast in New York City. In recent years the station was sold to current Atlantic Coast Communications INC. After the sale was final the audio format was taken off the air. The station is currently on the air with a test card without audio sound being played to fulfill the requirements from time to time. In addition to Digital transition in 2009 W26CE must require to convert to digital by 2015 or has the license suspended. It is unlikely whether they will transition to digital.
