Time in the Pan Africanist Congress

When Potlako Leballo, Chairman of the Pan Africanist Congress (PAC), was ousted from his position, Make became a member of a Presidential Council that also included David Sibeko and Ellias Ntloedibe. Several months following his appointment, Make ascended to the role of sole Chairman of the PAC. In January 1981, he resigned from this position to facilitate the leadership transition to John Nyathi Pokela, a recent detainee from Robben Island. Following this transition, Make served as the deputy chairman of the PAC under Pokela's leadership.
