Vivekanand Jha
(born 1977) is a translator, editor, and Indian poet. He has written and edited several critical and academic books including poetry in English, among them the poetry anthology, The Dance of the Peacock: An Anthology of English Poetry from India, featuring 151 Indian English poets. He is the founder and editor-in-chief of two literary magazines, VerbalArt and Phenomenal Literature.

Early life

Jha was born and raised at Mahinam-Pohaddi near Benipur in the Darbhanga district of Bihar, the son of Dr. Raja Nand Jha. He studied at Indira Gandhi National Open University and Lalit Narayan Mithila University. He has an MA and Ph.D. in English.

  • Contributing poet to Wavelengths – 2011 Savant Anthology of Poetry, winner of first place in the 2011 London Book Festival.
