Vivek Jain

Early life and education

Vivek was born in Bangalore, K.S., India and grew up in Mumbai & Delhi. His father, Ramesh C Jain, was the MD & CEO of Eicher Tractor and the Vice Chairman of Eicher Group.

Jain completed his Class X at Bombay Scottish School, Mahim and completed his Class XII at the D.G. Ruparel college in Matunga, Mumbai. He earned his B.E. degree in Electronics Engineering from Mumbai University. He holds an M.S. from Illinois Institute of Technology in Electrical and Computer Engineering, where he graduated with summa cum laude and was awarded a Teaching Assistant position for scholastic achievement. Later Motorola Mobility, a division of Google, sponsored his MBA from University of Texas at Austins's McCombs School of Business for outstanding performance at work.

Career

Vivek started his career in United States as one of the early members in a fast growing start up, Ashley Laurent. He quickly rose to become the Deputy Director and the company was later acquired by Cisco; post which he joined Motorola Mobility, a division of Google, where he managed relationship with carriers in multiple developed and emerging markets (US, Brazil, Mexico, Ukraine, Jordan etc.) to drive the products through conceptualization, definition, testing, optimization, certification and successful launch.

After this, Vivek joined SMC Networks, to work on Internet of Things (IoT). Specifically, Vivek lead the Residential and Commercial Security, Monitoring, Control and Automation product verticals and helped successfully launch a number of products. At Amazon.com, Vivek was Bandwidth Product / Business Head for the cloud division (Amazon Web Services) where he helped define the value proposition, differentiation strategy, pricing and feature roadmap to create a sustainable competitive advantage.

He has also worked as a Business Plan Reviewer at US Department of Commerce, NTIA where he reviewed Business Plans at BTOP (Broadband Technology Opportunities Program) to assist President Obama and Federal Government deliver on the promise of economic recovery (ARRA) through the $7.2 Billion Recovery Act's BTOP & Broadband Initiatives.

In 2014, Vivek returned to India as the Vice President, Product for the Digital Media vertical at Reliance Jio. He helped build the organization and the leadership team for Jio Media. On Dec 27, 2015 Jio Media launched six Digital Media Products for 1.5Lac employees.

Vivek Jain is currently Chief Executive Officer of CA Media Digital. In his current role, as CEO, Vivek’s key focus at CA Media is to further cultivate Fluence, India’s leading Celebrity digital network which connects celebrities with their fans and the brands through their online presence; and to help incubate and grow various consumer facing businesses in New Media.
