Visa policy of Benin

Visitors to Benin must obtain a visa from one of the Beninese diplomatic missions unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries.

Visa exemption

Citizens of the following 18 countries and territories can visit Benin without a visa for 90 days:

Holders of diplomatic or official/service passports of Algeria, Brazil, Comoros, Cuba, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Gabon, Haiti, Iran, Israel, Kenya, Libya, Mauritania, Mexico, Morocco, Russia, Sao Tome and Principe, Somalia, South Korea, Sudan, Switzerland and Tunisia do not require a visa.
An agreement between Benin and  Italy on mutual visa-free visits for holders of diplomatic and service was signed in September 2016 and is yet to be ratified.

Visa is not required for holders of an Authorisation Speciale d'Entree au Benin traveling to join mercy ships.
