Vinod Kumar Shukla (Hindi: िवनोद कुमार शुक्ला) aka Babbu Bhaiya, is a businessman and social worker. He hails from the respected Bhaiya Lal Shukla family of Amahiya Rewa. He was an independent candidate from Mauganj for the Madhya Pradesh State Assembly Elections held on November 25, 2013. He joined the Bharatiya Janta Party on November 24, 2014 in Rewa.

Early life

Shukla is the elder son of Shri Bhaiya Lal Shukla. Born on 17 October 1958, he completed school from Rewa and [Birla Vidya Mandir], Nainital. He finished his B.E. (Civil) from Government Engineering College, Rewa in 1980 and is currently on its Board of Directors. He is married and has children. He is simple, soft-spoken, of strong values and known for his sociable and helpful nature.

Professional Life

At the age of 21 he started to work his way up from a small position in his father’s company. After learning the ropes of the business he started his own company. This company is now one of the leading E&C firms of MP, and is known for producing superior quality roads and infrastructure. Shukla has been awarded by the Government of Madhya Pradesh on various occasions for successfully completing challenging projects. He has also been the Vice-President of the Madhya Pradesh Builders' Association.

Political career

Shukla was Vice-President of the Students' Union in Government Engineering College, Rewa. He is also a long-time member of the Rotary Club. Over the years, he has quietly empowered his region with jobs, helped people settle down, find jobs and receive an education. He has built various temples and essential facilities. He has never considered himself a typical businessman with sole focus on profit.

Personal life

Mr. Shukla is married with two children and spends his time between Rewa and Bhopal.
