Early life and education

Troia holds a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems from Empire State College in New York, a Master's Degree in Information Assurance and Security from Western Governor's University of Utah, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Information Security form Capella University.

Security career

Vinny started Night Lion Security in 2011, during his work with the United States Department of Defense. Night Lion Security was started to assist small, medium and enterprise businesses in detecting and managing cyber security threats. Through his work with Night Lion Security, Troia has been featured on a number of TV and radio programs, to comment as an expert on various security related topics. In 2014, Troia has provided analysis to issues such as the Target data breach, NSA spying on mobile phone users, and the growing concern of identity theft and tax return fraud.

Curvve Recordings

Troia founded his record label, Curvve Recordings, in 2003 with remixes of classical hit dane songs, "Free" and "Soul to Bare". In 2008, Alive Magazine reported: "As an electronic dance music producer, Troia puts his passion to work on his own label, Curvve Recordings."

Vinny Troia released his first original track, "Expression", through Curvve in 2004. The track was received well by critics, with M8 Magazine reporting: "Vinny Troia puts his money where his mouth his by releasing ‘Expression’ on his own label and basically kicking ass with it in the process."

Within a few years of the label's launch, Vinny Troia partnered with Canadian singer/songwriter Jaidene Veda. The success of Troia and Veda's first single, "Flow", with remix by Gareth Emery, paved the way for future collaborations. Together, Troia and Veda produced four original singles, each of which appeared in the Billboard Dance Charts.

In addition to his work with Curvve Recordings, several of Troia's productions and remixes went on to top the Beatport and Billboard dance charts, including remixes for Ultra Nate, N'Dea Davenport, Madonna and The Doors.
