Vineet Joshi (born 2 November 1968) is the former chairman and secretary of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). He is known for introducing the term Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation, which replaced the grading system in the Board examinations.

Education and early life

School Education from Annie Besant School Allahabad and Higher Secondary Education from GIC, Allahabad.He was equally good in Sports and Extra Curricular activities. Vineet Joshi pursued undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from, IIT Kanpur and postgraduate degree in Master of Business Administration from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade and joined Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports as the Private Secretary in the year 1999. From 2000-2001 he served as the private secretary in the Ministry of Food Processing Industries. Late in the year 2010 he was appointed as the chairperson of Central Board of Secondary Education.
