Early life

Videlina Mircheva was born in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. At the age of 6 she started taking piano and ballet lessons and thanks to her grandmother she entered the world of music and arts. In the National School of Music and Dances (NUMTI) "Dobrin Petkov", Plovdiv she continued studying classical piano, musical theory, harmony, solfeggio, etc. Gradually she became involved in singing and started developing her vocal skills, influenced by music, lyrics and philosophy of Erykah Badu. Soon after that Videlina made her first attempts in songwriting - "Believe in me" and "Pink World" which she recorded in a studio but never released.

Upon graduating from National School of Music and Dances "Dobrin Petkov", Videlina went on to study at the Academy of Music, Dance and Visual Arts (AMTII), Plovdiv. Meanwhile, she took private lessons in classical singing for one year. She graduated from The Academy in 2001 with a degree in music pedagogy and classical piano and several years later, in 2009, graduated MA in Art Management.

Singing in a band

In 2002 Videlina joined the band Free Style and began working on the creation of original music. In 2004 Free Style shot their first video "When She Wants" and won "Real Talents" competition, held by BG Radio and Jim Beam. The song was remixed by EDIT. The video premiere was on November 9, 2004 at club "Marmalad". In 2008 at "The King’s Stables", Plovdiv, Free Style presented their second video "Beautiful Things". Director, screenwriter and stylist is Rushi Vidinliev, a well-known Bulgarian singer and songwriter. The song was remixed by Mr. Moon.

Over the years Videlina and Free Style has numerous of concerts at home and abroad: club Petnoto, The King’s Stables, club Marmalad, Sofia Live Club, Roxy Club – Burgas; Rock in Rila – Borovets; Pirdop Fest; Honky Tonk Festival; Apolonia Art Festival, Sozopol; Music Beach Shkorpilovtsy; Concert on the occasion of Treaty of Accession of Bulgaria to the EU in 2005; Charity Concert SOS Children's Villages at National Palace of Culture (NDK) Hall 1, with Rushi Vidinliev, Maria Ilieva, Grafa, KariZma, Signal etc.

Music projects

In 2010 Videlina left Free Style and became a soloist of Big Band Plovdiv.

"Wonder & Videlina"

In 2010 Videlina began working with DJ Wonder, combining house music and live vocals. The project was first performed at DJ Wonder's house party "Wonder's Lab" at club Plazma, Plovdiv, followed by a concert at Sofia Live Club and Planet Club de Luxe. In 2013 is released their first single - "This Summer".

"The Pop Concert"

Videlina's latest collaboration is with the well-known Bulgarian jazz singer Vassil Petrov who invited her to take part in his new project "The Pop Concert", along with other well-known Bulgarian musicians like: Angel Zaberski-son (pianist, composer), Stoyan Yankulov - Stundzhy (drums, percussions), Milen Kukosharov (piano, keyboards), Miroslav Ivanov (guitar), Boris Taslev (bass). The project presented familiar songs like "Hello" (Lionel Richie), "If Tomorrow Never Comes" (Barry Manilow), "Boat on the River" (Styx), "Fragile" (Sting), "Feelings", etc. in modern arrangements. "The Pop Concert" was first introduced with great success at the Annual Festival of Arts "Apolonia", Sozopol 2011.

"Music Station Project"

At the end of 2011 Videlina started a project named "Music Station". The idea that brings the musicians together was to offer the public a quality selection of jazz, soul and funk music. The ptoject was performed first at Christmas night at "Stage 51", followed by a concert at club Petnoto.

Vocal coaching

Along with her passion for singing, Videlina feels the need to be a voice teacher as well. She began teaching pop, rock and jazz singing in 2007. Her main goals are to be innovative, to use modern methods, to encourage and guide her students to develop their skills. To achieve that Videlina was looking for effective, interesting and "working" methods of vocal coaching. She relies on the background and experience of some well-known vocal coaches and their vocal training programs: Robert Lunte - "The Four Pillars of Singing", Melissa Cross - the creator of Zen of Screaming; Brett Manning - "Singing Success".
