Biography
Victoria Amelina was born in Lviv, Ukraine in 1986.
In 2014, Victoria Amelina left her successful career in IT to dedicate herself to writing. By 2015 she became a laureate of the Ukrainian National Literary Competition Koronatsiya Slova and released her debut novel Fall Syndrome or Homo Compatiens that was short-listed as one of the best books of the year according to the Litakcent online magazine and Valeriy Shevchuk literary prize. The novel received positive reviews from scholars both from Ukraine and Europe. Texts by Victoria Amelina have been translated into Chech and Dutch languages.
In 2016, Victoria Amelina released her first book for children Someone, or Water Heart.
Currently, Victoria Amelina lives in Lviv where she works on her new novel. The plot is related to Stanislaw Lem's childhood in Lviv; this was announced during the first City of Lem festival.
