Vico Thai (born 16 April 1981) is an Australian actor, best known for his work in Foxtel’s Dangerous (TV series), East West 101, and Mother Fish.

Early life

Born in Saigon, Vietnam, to Chinese parents, Vico grew up in the Sydney suburb of Bankstown and began performing at the age of 10. In 1995 Vico received a prestigious national scholarship to study at the Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP). During his time at ATYP, Vico trained and performed in various theatrical and musical productions such as Corragio, Macbeth and Beyond the Game. In 1997 Vico was nominated by the Ten Network for a National Young Achiever Award.

In 2002 Vico's 14-year-old sister Jenny Thai died from an unsuccessful open heart surgery. The loss of his sibling was devastating but after some time off, Vico joined the Bankstown Youth Development Service (BYDS), and the Powerhouse Youth Theatre mentoring and helping disadvantaged youths all over Sydney.

Vico had his first break as a guest star on Young Lions, a crime drama which was screened on the Nine Network. In 2005 Vico starred in Urban Theatre Projects’ Fast Cars and Tractor Engines a verbatim style play performed for the first time in Australia. Vico then landed a regular lead role, as one of the stars on Foxtel’s AFI nominated show Dangerous (TV series) working alongside Joel Edgerton, Brooke Satchwell and Nicole da Silva. His next role was as a guest star on the internationally acclaimed show East West 101, which stars Susie Porter and William McInnes.
