Story

Vershini and Kausalya were daughters of Kaushal king. Vershini was married to Rompad, the king of Angadesh (present day Bhagalpur, Bihar). . And Kausalya to Dasharatha, the king of Ayodhya. Rompad was a good friend of Maharaja Dasharatha as both of them were educated at the ashram of sage Vasistha. Shanta was born to Vershini and Rompad. Later, Shanta was given in marriage to sage Rishyasringa.
