Velma Veloria (born October 22, 1950) was the first Filipino American as well as the first Asian American woman to be elected to the Washington State Legislature serving 1992-2004. She was born in Bani, Pangasinan in the Philippines around 1950. Veloria graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in medical technology.
