Velapene Screen or simply Velapene is an electronic musician, Chris Ghiraldi. based in Los Angeles, New York and more recently Las Vegas. Velapene began releasing electronic music officially at the age of 24. However, he purchased his first drum machine at the age of 14. Known for his carefully crafted and meticulously edited songs Chris has appeared alongside some of today's finest upcoming musicians.

Following his second release, Velapene won the Philly Laptop Battle in 2004 and the New York City Laptop Battle in 2006, which received attention from Rolling Stone.

Velapene has remixed artists including Interpol, Meat Beat Manifesto, Radiohead, Casxio, Metric and Regina Spektor.
