Biography

Vasiliy Myazin was born on October 5, 1936 in Moscow, Russia and had been painting since the 1950s. Fighting debilitating illness, he died on October 26, 2008. He used many different techniques and materials, such as oil and acrylic on canvas, paint on carpet, graphics, and sculpture.

Vasiliy Myazin belongs to the generation of contemporary artists who have roots of their inspiration in the beginning of 20th century's art. He developed his own very distinctive style driven by new ideas and contemporary movements.

In 1962 Myazin began to participate in district, Republic, All-Union and foreign exhibitions. In 1990 was admitted to The Artists League of the former USSR for high achievement in fine arts. Myazin works with different media: drawing, painting, sculpture, hot enamels, and monumental-decorative compositions. Uses various materials in his work: canvas, oil paint, and acrylic paint, plastic, metal, wood, paper, cardboard, etc. The artist has developed a painting technique that is innovative, with classic subject matter.
