Valitut Palat was started by Sanoma in 1945. The publisher of the magazine is Oy Valitut Palat. The company was part of Reader’s Digest Inc. until 30 April 2013 when Club Internacional del Libro group, CIL Group, acquired it. The magazine has its headquarters in Helsinki and is published on a monthly basis.
Valitut Palat supports for both conservative values and modern technology. The magazine covers content from its parent publication, Reader's Digest, but its material is adapted to the needs and cultural background of Finnish readers.
