Valinokkam is a village in Ramanathapuram district in Tamil Nadu where the graves of Imraan Ummayah Al Badawiyyah shaheed and Sulthan Abdul Qadir (Popularly called as Peer Muhammad, Noor Muhammad by the local people) along with numbers of shuhadaas who were martyred along with Badhusha Sulthan Syed Ibrahim Shaheed of Erwadi is found. There are invisible graves of thousands of martyrs in valinokkam since it is one of the major location where the war between Arabs and pandiyas held. There is a Kattupalli in valinokkam where the graves of a few Shuhadaas (Martyrs) are found. Being in the sea shore, Valinokkam is famous for salt production. The Tamil Nadu Salt corporation started Salt production from Valinokkam in the year 1974.

As a leader of Robbery gang
Ummayya Al Badawiyya was the leader of a robbery gang before joining the troop of Shaheed Badhusha. He led a gang in the forest between Madinah and Jeddah, stayed there and robbed from the travellers who pass by that forests. One day, Umayyah was asleep beneath a tree and was staring at the top of the tree where he saw a child bird feeding its mother chewing the food. Imran went atop and found that bird to be blind and realised how Allah feeds all his creature.
Badusha's words a cause for change
He met Badhusha nayagam that night and the incident brought a good change in Imran's mind. An advice given by saheed badhusha became the reason for the change in mind of Imran shaheed. He left his profession of robbery and with his entire gang joined the troop of Badhusha Nayagam and started his journey towards India.
Major role in the war
Imran shaheedd played a very important role in the war held between Pandiyas and Arabs in 12th Century.
Village
The village is situated on a peninsula. Hence it played an essential role in the ancient wars which occurred in the region. Nice Masjid is said to have been constructed by Jinns, which was originally constructed by Vavwali Naina Mohamed marraicayar of kilakarai (grand father of vallal seethakathi marraikayar)who build many stone masjids in sea shore area of kerala, Tamil Nadu and andhra he built many masjid in cylone also which resembles by his own symbol embosed in those masjid which was very clearly shown in his tomb (old jumma masjid oldest masjid of India) in kilakarai ;
