    Economy

Uvuru subsistence and commercial agriculturalists depend more on locally made agricultural tools such as hoes (ogu), machetes (mma), axe, baskets and others. Their staple food crops include yam (different species) cassava, black beans, cocoyam (different species), maize and others. They also engage in craft sand, artistic works such as blacksmithing, carving, basket-making, weaving and others. In addition, they plant trees, including orange, plantain, banana, paw paw and tangerine. Lumbering is another economic activity.

These communities practice traditional religion as they believed in the existence of Chukwu Abiama. This Chukwu Abiama is worshiped through smaller gods in their shrines. Most of their socio-cultural, political and economic activities relate to their traditional African religion until Europeans brought Christianity to Uvuru in 1910.
