Formation
Formed in 1989, the band featured guitarist Bento Hinoto and brothers Samuel and Sergio Reoli, bass and drums, respectively. During a show, a guy who was in the audience, vocalist Dinho, offered to sing "Sweet Child o' Mine," the group Guns N' Roses. His performance funny Dinho secured the post of lead singer of Utopia and Marcio Cardoso was invited by Sergio Reoli who was his friend, to play keyboard and enter the Utopia, but I prefer to stay only as a friend of the band. Dinho, later, brought the fifth member, keyboardist Julio Rasec.
In 1992 the band recorded their first and only independent record called "A Fórmula do Fenômeno", with the songs "Fento Frio", "Knee", "Funk White", "Horizonte Infinito", "Utopia 2" and "Mina" ( embryo of the song in Pelados em Santos). The album was a huge commercial flop, selling just over 100 copies.
