Information

The Ustupu-Ogobsucum Airport bridges two of the several islands comprised by the town. It is located off the Panamanian coastline, towards the northern, less populated area of the tourist island, about 1 km far away from town centre. There is a scheduled commuter service, offering return flights to Panama City every second day. The island is rather low-lying, and during the monsoon season, often floods, causing flight cancellations.

Incidents and accidents

  • On 28 January, 2007, a Cessna 182 Light Aircraft operating a cargo flight was destroyed after it crashed into trees during take-off from the airport.
