Unreal

All tracks written by Straylight Productions and Michiel van den Bos. Additionally there are some music tracks which were included in the game but were not used in the original game alone, such as "Opal" and "Morose". Some of these unused tracks were, however, used in Return to Na Pali. The original 20-track album, which lasts an hour, is merely a sample of the game's full 32-tune soundtrack. It was released in May 1998 by Epic MegaGames. The music was composed by Alexander Brandon, van den Bos, Andrew Sega, and Dan Gardopée.

Unreal features music in the UMX file format.

This is the track list of the game's full 32-tune soundtrack which, with MOD subtunes included (action, tension and heartbeat), plays for well over two hours. The last three bonus-tracks were used only in Unreal Tech Demo, released in 1995, three years before the actual release of the game.

Unreal Tournament

Also known as UT'99 and UT GOTY. The soundtrack of this game was done in tracker music, instead of the CD music used in Quake II, which resulted in good quality music and less size. There was never an official soundtrack, but a lot of people obtained it directly from the game (it was in Impulse Tracker format inside the UMX packages) and converted it to more popular formats.

The music was composed by Straylight Productions with Alexander "Siren" Brandon at its head, and Michiel van den Bos.

    In the UT'99 soundtrack, identifiers were inside the files (artist name, company, group, etc.), and they were visible only using a tracker program.

    There is no established track order. The order shown here is the same as the music played during the single player campaign. Also, there are five more tracks, but they are considered duplicated by most people since they don't change too much from the originals.

    Unreal Tournament 2003

    Instead of the original Unreal Tournament tracked music, this time Ogg Vorbis format was used for music.

    The music for Unreal Championship was composed by Starsky Partridge. It contains tracks from UT2003.

    Unreal II: The Awakening

    Most of the music files of Unreal II use DirectMusic, and only the cutscenes use OGG Vorbis format. There are some additional music tracks that were not used in the game. Overall the music is very cinematic and uses many effects.

    Like Unreal Tournament 2003, OGG Vorbis format was used for music. Some of the tracks used in Unreal Tournament 2004 are from Unreal Tournament 2003.

    Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict

    The music for Unreal Championship 2 was composed by Kevin Riepl. Many of the tracks were named after the map they appear in.

    Unreal Tournament 3

    Unreal Tournament 3: The Soundtrack was composed by Jesper Kyd and Rom Di Prisco. According to UT3's Audio Director Mike Larson, after the more orchestral music of UT2003 and UT2004 it became clear that "an overwhelming majority of users" preferred the original UT music. This, and the wish to make a clear distinction between the UT series and Gears of War led to the decision to return to electronica. Most of the tracks are remixes of original UT99 tracks, or feature small samples from UT tracks. Some of the music that can be heard in game or on cutscenes is not present in those 2 CDs; they are reported as "Others", which were composed by Kevin Riepl. UT3 features both music in the Ogg Vorbis format as well as dynamic music of an unknown format.

    According to IGN, Di Prisco's work in Unreal Tournament 3 is influenced by a variety of electronic music periods and artists, such as Vangelis, Tangerine Dream, William Orbit, Orbital, and Roni Size. The Crystal Method, Kraftwerk and Peter Gabriel are also mentioned as influences on the soundtrack.
