University of Moratuwa (UoM), Sri Lanka's leading technological university has a long history in networking being a pioneer in connecting Sri Lanka to the global Internet. For decades, UOM has been producing graduates who have made a name in the area of Networking. To further cement its leadership role in networking, UOM has partnered with the global giant in Networking - Cisco Systems through their world-renowned Cisco Network Academy to establish "Cisco Networking Center (CNC)" at the University of Moratuwa.

With the full cooperation of Cisco Networking Academy, CNC aims to produce world class networking professionals through highly qualified and experienced instructors.
History
In 2014, University of Moratuwa has established Cisco Networking Center under the Center for IT Services (CITeS) for students to gain the skills needed to build, design, and maintain computer networks to improving their career prospects while filling the demand for networking professionals.
In 2016 February, The University of Moratuwa-Cisco Networking Center became the ONE and ONLY Cisco Networking Academy which can conduct Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Routing & Switching (R&S) Student program as well as the CCNP instructor training through the University of Moratuwa - Instructor Training Center (ITC).
Aim
The rapid growth of networks has created a global shortage of people who are qualified to implement and maintain networking solutions, especially in places where networks are being built to promote economic development. At the same time, people need access to better training and career opportunities to successfully compete in the global economy. Cisco Networking Center addresses to the growing demand for networking professionals in Sri Lanka.
Partnership
The partnership of the pioneer of the networking education, Cisco Networking Academy helps to provide 21st century learning experience to Sri Lankan students to design, build, and manage networks, along with career skills such as problem solving, collaboration, and critical thinking. The Cisco Networking Academy is providing innovative technologies to us to make this journey success.

Currently under the Cisco Networking Center, Instructor Training Center (ITC), University of Moratuwa - Cisco Networking Academy & SchoolNet - Cisco Networking Academy are operating with well experienced Instructors and staff.
