University College of Engineering & Technology (UCET),Bahawalpur is one of the constituent colleges of The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB).

Contents

The college offers Undergraduate courses in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering and Computer system Engineering. More than 1000 students graduates each year from this college.

History

UCET started its undergraduate program in Electronic Engineering in 1999 and the first batch passed out in 2003. Later in 2005, college started its degree program in Computer System Engineering and in 2007 two more degree programs in Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications.

The college's infrastructure includes state of the art air-conditioned laboratories, spacious class rooms, well stocked library with more than 30,000 Engineering Books, and modern computing labs equipped with more than 400 computers.

  • The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE, read I-Triple-E) is a professional association headquartered in New York City that is dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence. It has about 425,000 members in about 160 countries. The IEEE - UCET Chapter has been started its working in late in 2009 as the very first International Society of UCET Department, has been founded and Co-founded by Engineering Students, Muhammad Saqib Jamil (Batch 2007-Electronics Engineering Student) and Mr. Sohaib Shafqat (Batch 2007-Electrical Engineering Student) along with other IEEE Student Members supervised by Mr. Qaiser Ijaz and Mr. Muhammad Ali Qureshi and formally approved on 16 April 2010 and Mr. Muhammad Saqib Jamil became the very first Official Chair of that Student Society.

    Engineers Entity, being the oldest student society founded by Student of 2005 Batch of Computer System Engineering, Mr. Qaiser Ijaz (Current Faculty of UCET Department) have also been the major society of the department. They have put efforts in making the community of students much stronger through entertainment, education and communication activities.

    Along with IEEE, there are other Student Societies working under the supervision of the faculty and the students. Young Engineer's Society, founded by Muhammad Usman Sardar and Muhammad Imran (2008-Electrical Engineering Batch), have played vital role in providing the best educational benefits to the students of UCET.
