U TV is a Romanian music channel located in Bucharest owned by RCS & RDS S.A..
It was launched in late 2005 under the slogan ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU. It belonged to UTI GROUP, but was later sold to RCS RDS. Some people believed that U TV replaced ATOMIC TV or TV K LUMEA, but id did not. It was and it is a fairly successful channel, being mainly broadcast in clubs, restaurants, but also has a target for 18–35 years public, broadcasting new music, and slightly older music, Romanian and foreign, mainly dance, club, house. It is also available as U HD, with Dolby Audio. Upc gave up broadcasting U HD in 2014. UTV mainly broadcasts new music, while H!T music channel, another RCS RDS channel, broadcasts even older music from the 60's to the present date. It is available on most cable and satellite platforms in Romania, both in analogue and digital format on cable platform ( depending on the provider). It is also available as FTA on satellite. Also available online, can be received with a smartphone, PC, smart TV or media player ( or bluray player with internet service) connected to the internet. It is not available on terrestrial platform however.
