Playing career
Dowzak began his major junior career with the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL in 2005–06.
On October 14, 2008, after an excellent rookie tournament, Dowzak was signed as a free agent by the New York Rangers. On October 4, 2010, he way assigned by the Rangers to the Dayton Gems of the CHL.
