Tyler Kubara (born 28 November 1994) is an Australian ice hockey player who plays as a Forward for the CBR Brave in the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL). Tyler is a former Australian U18 and U20 youth international.

Club career
Kubara started his senior ice hockey career by linking up with Sydney ECSL side the Reach Rebels for the 2012 season. Kubara excelled for the Rebels in his first season contributing 27 points from 20 games in both the regular season and play-offs. This good form drew the attention of the Sydney Ice Dogs in the AIHL and Tyler made the switch to Australia’s top ice hockey league where he made three appearances in his rookie year. The Following season Tyler turned out in three different leagues. Tyler played 13 games for the Sydney Maple Leafs in the AJIHL, 10 games for the Reach Rebels in the ECSL, and 22 games for the Sydney Ice Dogs in the AIHL.
Kubara followed the same pattern in 2014 playing for both the Ice Dogs and Rebels but he turned out for the Sydney Wolf Pack instead of the Maple Leafs in the AJIHL. Following the conclusion of the 2014 AIHL season on 25 September 2014, Tyler was looking for more ice time and moved to America on the back of an invitation from Sydney Bears import Dane Ludolph to play for his former club San Diego Gulls (now known as San Diego Sabers) in the Western States Hockey League (WSHL). Tyler was joined by Sydney Bears and childhood friend Cameron Todd. Kubara took some time to adjust to the North American style of play in the WSHL and get himself fit after an AIHL post-season surgury before heading to America. But soon enough Gull's head coach Craig Carlyle was praising Tyler for his progression and improvement. Kubara finished his time in America with 38 games under his belt including 5 play-off games. Tyler scored 6 goals and made 16 assists during his 38 games.
17 March 2015, Kubara returned home and signed with CBR Brave for the 2015 AIHL season. Kubara was the Brave's second ex Sydney Ice Dogs player to sign for the season after David Dunwoodie.
Kubara was given the number 16 jersey at the Brave and made his debut for the club in round one of the 2015 season at home at Phillip Ice Centre against the Sydney Bears. The Brave went on to win the match 4-2 in front of a sold out crowd. Tyler scored his first goal for the club in the first period against the Perth Thunder in Perth in round three as the Brave took the lead but ended up losing the match 1-4.
International career
Kubara was first selected to represent Australia in 2011 where he joined the national under-18 team to compete in the 2011 IIHF World U18 Championship Division III Group A tournament being held in Taipei, Taiwan. Australia won the tournament and gained promotion to Division II for the next year, while Tyler earned his first gold medal in international competition and finished the tournament with two points from two assists in five games. The following year Tyler was again selected again for the under-18 team to compete at the 2012 IIHF World U18 Championship Division II Group B tournament held at Novi Sad, Serbia. Australia finished in fifth place with Kubara only managing one point for the tournament and finished with a plus-minus of –3.
In January 2013 Kubara returned to Serbia by linking up with the national under-20 team for the first time to compete in the 2013 IIHF World U20 Championship Division II Group B tournament held in Belgrade, Serbia. Australia finished 4th in the tournament with 2 wins and 3 losses. Tyler was again called up to the 2014 World Championships with the national under-20 team. The 2014 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships – Division II was held at Jaca, Spain. Australia again finished fourth in the group with one win, one overtime win and three losses. Kubara had a steller tournament contributing six points with one goal and five assists in five games.
Personal life
Kubara was born on 28 November 1994. 7 May 2015, Tyler committed himself to attend Lindenwood University, Saint Charles, Missouri, United States from September 2015 (US Fall).
