Twentynine Palms is a 2003 film directed by Bruno Dumont.
David, an American photographer, and his Russian girlfriend Katia are scouting locations for an upcoming photo shoot. During the day, they drive through some of the wildest, most bizarre desert landscapes, whilst at night, they continually argue and have raw, primal sex. Eventually, their luck runs out.
Plot
A photographer, David, and his Russian girlfriend Katia, venture into the desert town of Twentynine Palms to search for nature motifs for a photo shoot. Katia hardly speaks English and David speaks no Russian so they communicate in French, which neither speaks fluently.
The unexpected ending of the film includes David being raped, and him killing Katia.
