The Independence Cup is a competition organized by the Tuvalu National Football Association (TNFA). The competition is held on Funafuti on 1 October of each year ('Independence Day') and has been organized since 1988,.

History

In 1988 was the first tournament, then was the name Ten Anniversary of Tuvalu Independence Tournament (TATI). Held every 2 years, also in 1990. In 1991 was the year the airfield was tar-sealed and soccer tournaments on the capital Funafuti came to a standstill. The TATI Tournament was resumed in 1998. And kept every year now.
