Early life
Tushar Dutta is amongst the most celebrated vocalist of Kolkata. Immensely talented and took "Talim" under some of the greatest Gurus of India Pt A Kanan, Pt A Bhaduri, Pt K G Ginde. He was born in Natore, Bangladesh. Tushar started learning the fundamentals of Indian Classical music from Pt. Bimal Mitra of Durgapur at an early age. Later He Joined ITC Sangeet Research Academy in 1983, at first he took Taalim under Pandit Arkut Kannabhirham, later under Pandit Arun Bhaduri in Kirana Gharana. He also took Taalim in Agra Gharana under Pandit K G Ginde and Pandit Sunil Bose and also from His Guru-Sister Vidushi Subhra Guha.The distinct and mellifluous blend of Kirana and Agra Gharana in his renditions is indeed remarkable. A perfect balance between emotional and technical qualities characterises his musical creations. He was awarded the National Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India. Tushar is the “Top Grade” artiste in the All India Radio.In 1998, Tushar Dutta stood first in Khayal at All India University competition in Banaras . He has received the title of Surmani from Sur Sringar Samsad of Mumbai.
Career
Tushar Dutta has participated in many major concerts including the ones in the Birla academy of Art & Culture, and the ITC Sangeet Sammelan.
He sang various Semi Classical music and also light music for many Bengali Television series and Bengali Movies as a playback artist.
He has performed at almost every prestigious music conference all over the India. Few noted conferences are Akashbani Sangeet Sammelan (Rohtak 2013), ITC Sangeet Sammelan (all over India), Swarganga Sangeet Mahotsab, Mumbai, Saptak, Ahmedabad etc. Across the globe, he has been performing in the Canada, US, UK, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, France, UAE, Oman, Bangladesh and many more countries.
Tushar Dutta is one of the most famous music trainers of a very popular programme of learning classical music and Nazrulgeeti in Government’s FM channel Gyanbani.
Tushar Dutta visited Sri Lanka on 10th December 2016 and stayed for 10 days to perform and deliver few workshops arranged where North Indian Classical Music Conducts, His Honour was at The Visual and Arts Performance University to conduct a workshop to the students and at Indian Cultural Centre, Colombo and also at the Sri Lankan National TV "Rupawahini Corporation at the Rajitha Sara Programme which was mesmerised his vocal capabilities to touch the hearts of professionals and music lovers.
Awards and recognition
Tushar has already achieved many colourful feathers in his musical cap not only from India, but from abroad too. He was awarded the National Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India. 'Tushar is the "TOP GRADE" artiste in the All India Radio and awarded with the "Pandit" title.'
