Prince Turki bin Mohamed bin Fahd Al Saud was born on 5 October 1979 in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He is the eldest son of Prince Mohamed bin Fahd bin Saud, the eldest surviving son of the late King Fahd who was former governor of the Eastern Provinces and Jawahir bint Nayef, sister of the actual Crown Prince. He is the grandnephew of King Salman, the current King of Saudi Arabia.

Education

Prince Turki bin Mohamed bin Fahd received his primary, intermediate, and secondary education at the Dhahran School, an international K-9 institution owned and operated by the Saudi Aramco School District. From 1998 he attended the King Faisal University, where he graduated in 2002 as a lawyer.

Family

Prince Turki is married to Princess Jawahir, the daughter of Major General Turki Bin Abdullah Bin Mohammed (2005), and has three daughters: Nouf (2007), Luluwah (2009) and Nora (2010).

Community service

Prince Turki is involved in his community in various ways: he is the vice-chairman of the Board of Trustees of Prince Mohammad University. Founded in 2006, this Al-Khobar-based private university is a highly innovative, student-centered, fast-growing institution of higher learning where a number of international professors and prominent businessmen of the eastern region participate.

Prince Turki chairs the executive committee of the Prince Mohammed bin Fahd Foundation for Humanitarian Development (www.PMFHD.org). This foundation assists communities in various ways. For example, it trains young men and women of the eastern region and helps them find adequate employment. During the summer months, it organizes programs for students to learn English and computer languages.

The Prince is the president of the Founding Committee of the Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz College for the Visually Impaired, an initiative that fosters learning opportunities for people with this kind of disability. He is also the founder of an organization that provides opportunities for orphans.

Businesses

Prince Turki is chairman of the TAALEM Educational Services Company. He also serves as Vice Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Amiantit Company, which was founded in 1968 and is headquartered in Dammam. Together with its subsidiaries, the company has developed into a major diversified industrial group and manufactures and sells pipes and related products worldwide. The Group comprises 30 pipe system manufacturing plants, 6 technology companies, 4 materials suppliers, and 8 supply and engineering subsidiaries in a number of countries around the world. In addition, an extensive sales and service network caters to the needs of customers in more than 70 countries.

King Fahd

Recently, Prince Turki organized a commemorative event in Riyadh for his grandfather, the late king Fahd. This event included an interactive exhibition of King Fahd's life story. It displayed his personal collection of cars, decorations, and scarves and showed official documents, manuscripts, documentaries, and more than 1000 photographs, some of them made available to the public for the first time. King Salman inaugurated the exhibition on March 31.

More than 85,000 visitors, from all over the GCC, including many members of the Royal Family and some international leaders, came to the event. Due to its success, the exhibition will become a permanent part of the King Fahd museum at the King Fahd Foundation.
