Turki Abdullah Al-Shabanah is a Saudi TV figure and president of Rotana TV channels; born in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 9 November 1964; one of the most known TV Staff figures in the Arab World, he held numerous high positions in the Media Industry.

Education

  • Graduated from King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; holding a bachelor degree in law, class of 1990.
  • He was conferred upon a master's degree in the international trade law from Washington University, United States of America, 1993.
  • Career

    He started out as an attorney in the United States of America where he began his career in Washington DC; held the position of Head of United Press Legal Dept.

    In 1999; Mr. Al-Shabanah was appointed as MBC deputy program production director, he held the position until 2003.

    From 2003 to 2007, He held the position of director of development and consultancy, and advisor to H.H. Royal Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal bin Abdel Aziz.

    Turki Al-Shabanah has established khalijia channel that was launched in 5 May 2005 a musical channel broadcasting mainly music and video clips from the Gulf region; in 2008 Khalijia became a general viewing channel taking the lead amongst other channels targeting the Gulf area viewers, broadcasting Saudi and Gulf region art and heritage.

    Moreover; focusing on the interests of Saudi and Gulf region viewers; as it enhanced its programs adding new content stemming from Saudi and Gulf region communities; these programs highlighted the motto "Shebabha Adra B-Shabeha" (its people knows best its twits).
