  • "Boom Tiyaya" was used as the campaign jingle of the Partido ng Demokratikong Reporma–Lapiang Manggagawa (Reporma–LM) of former Defense Secretary Renato de Villa in the 1998 Philippine General Elections, which the lyrics changed into "Demokratikong Reporma ng ating Bayan para sa kinabukasan ng ating bayan" and "Tayo na sa Demokratikong Reporma ng ating bayan!".
  • Boom Tiyaya's lyrics were changed into a series of references to the candidates of the Reporma–LM party, whose the Boom Tiyaya-Tiyaya-Tiyaya Yeah line was changed into "Renato De Villa at Pareng Oscar Orbos. Tambalan Para sa Demokratikong Reporma!", while "Close your eyes, Hold your Hand, Turn Around" was changed into the surnames of the Reporma–LM Senatorial Slate.
